      we once found that immune cells reponded in a very strong way when we activated them with a particular protein. The funny thing was, we hadn’t intended to ever use that protein – we had run out of the one we wanted to use and one of the research team used it more or less by accident! The important thing is the way you respond to the unusual finding….. saying “Hmmmm, thats funny…” is more often the beginning of an interesting study than shouting “Eureka!”
