I’m only the age of thirteen and I’m considering a job in engineering, is there any specific advise you could give for my future plans.

Sure! At the moment you probably don’t need to actively do anything, but if you want you could have a look at the different types of engineering to see what might interest you – I have friends who went into civil, aeronautical, acoustic and mechanical engineering for example! Then I would say when you start GCSEs, try looking into finding some work experience at an engineering company. When I was at school we had a dedicated time for work experience but not sure if that would be the same for you. If after that you still want to pursue engineering, you could see what university courses or apprenticeships you might like to do and take it from there. Hope that helps 🙂

At every stage in my career I have had moments where I wanted to give up. But you always just have to evaluate the pros and cons. Would you rather do something different or are the benefits outweighing the negatives? In my case the answer has always been that what I do gives me far more satisfaction than other jobs
