      These are called white blood cells, and there are different types – they make up the immune system! When you first get an infection, there is a local inflammatory response which are cells that flood to the area and try to stop the infection by eating the bad cells – these are mainly called macrophages. Then there are other immune cells called T-cells, which recognise very specific signals from specific bacteria and they travel through the blood stream to find them. When they find one, they basically build an army of cells and try to fight the specific infection. T-cells are the type of cell I am trying to use to fight cancer cells!
